Purpose: An extended bolt release (sometimes called an extended bolt catch or “BAD lever” style bar) exists to make the AR’s bolt catch easier and faster to use. On a stock rifle the bolt catch sits high on the left side of the receiver, so you usually have to break your firing grip or reach over with your support hand to lock the bolt back or send it forward after a reload. An extended release wraps around or attaches to that factory catch and puts a lever down in front of the trigger guard, so you can operate it with your trigger finger (or from the right side) without shifting your hands. The result is quicker magazine changes, smoother malfunction clearance, and more consistent control—especially useful in competition, training, or any situation where you want to stay on the gun.
Features: Extended Bolt Assisted Release is a lightweight, drop-in upgrade for standard AR-platform rifles. It wraps around the existing mil-spec bolt catch and extends a textured lever forward in front of the trigger guard, giving easy, ambidextrous access to both lock and release the bolt without shifting your firing grip. Precision-machined from strong T6061 aircraft-grade aluminum and finished in anodizing, it weighs only about 0.03 oz and installs quickly with no permanent modifications. Ideal for faster magazine changes and smoother reloads on the range or in competition.
