The Super Safety invented by Hoffman Tactical, made with CPM steel, is a modification for semi-automatic firearms, such as the AR-15, that enhances the trigger reset process. It integrates a push-button mechanism into the safety selector, which, when engaged, uses the bolt’s rearward motion to actively reset the trigger after each shot. This forced reset trigger allows for faster follow-up shots while still requiring a separate trigger pull per round, distinguishing it from fully automatic fire. The super safety allows the user to select between 3 firing modes: Safe, Semi and Forced Reset.

      Most forced reset triggers have a small protruding lever, arm, or "sear trip" on the trigger that extends upward into the BCG area. This lever uses the rearward movement of the BCG to mechanically force the trigger forward (reset it) after each shot, enabling the rapid follow-up shots that make a forced reset trigger work.
       
      In a standard semi-auto AR-15 BCG, there is usually enough open space or a proper "full-auto" style tail. In many 9mm AR-9 BCGs, the rear interior of the carrier contains a heavy tungsten or steel weight (added for reliable blowback cycling in pistol-caliber blowback systems). This weight often sits right where the forced reset lever needs to move freely. If the weight blocks the lever, the forced reset trigger won't reset properly — or worse, the upper and lower receivers may not even close all the way together.
