Partisan Disruptor Forced Reset Trigger Guide (2026)

Posted by Myth Industries on Oct 28th 2026

The Partisan Disruptor is a commercial drop-in cassette forced reset trigger (US Patent 9146067) descended from the original TacCon 3MR design. It is manufactured by Partisan Triggers and is engineered for fast, hassle-free installation on the AR-15 platform.

It is a complete fire control group that replaces your existing trigger, hammer, and disconnector. It requires no permanent modifications or gunsmithing in standard mil-spec AR-15 lowers.

This guide is not legal advice. Always verify federal, state, and local laws before purchasing or using any rate-enhancing device.

What Is the Partisan Disruptor?

The Disruptor is a self-contained cassette that includes the trigger shoe, sear, springs, and reset mechanism. It features a three-position safety selector (Safe, Semi, and Enhanced Semi-Automatic / Forced Reset).

Typical trigger pull is 3.75–4.1 lbs. Wear surfaces use tool steel and 4140 chromoly for durability.

How Does the Disruptor Work?

  1. You pull the trigger → one round fires.
  2. The BCG cycles rearward.
  3. The recoiling mass mechanically pushes the trigger forward into the reset position faster than a standard spring alone would.
  4. You pull the trigger again for the next shot.

Each shot still requires a separate function of the trigger. The device does not convert the firearm into a machine gun.

Compatibility Requirements

Disruptor in a .300 Blackout Build

Disruptor in a 9MM / AR-9 Build

See our AR-9 Installation Guide.

A dedicated 9MM kit is available that includes the cut BCG and hydraulic buffer.

Installation Overview

  1. Clear the firearm completely.
  2. Separate upper and lower.
  3. Loosen or remove the pistol grip screw.
  4. Remove the existing safety selector.
  5. Remove the hammer pin and hammer/spring.
  6. Remove the trigger pin and old trigger assembly.
  7. Drop in the Partisan Disruptor cassette (align pin holes).
  8. Install the included 3-position safety.
  9. Re-tighten the pistol grip and function check.

Most users complete the install in under 15 minutes.

Common Issues

No reset or light strikes: Buffer too light. Upgrade to the H3 GEN2.

Failure to cycle reliably: Verify M16-profile BCG and proper lubrication.

Final Thoughts

The Partisan Disruptor is one of the most straightforward cassette-style Forced Reset Triggers available. It is designed for minimal fitting and consistent performance when paired with the correct BCG and buffer. The H3 GEN2 Slide Dead Blow Buffer remains our top recommendation for carbine setups.
