Atrius Selector & M16 Style Selector Forced Reset Device Guide (2026)

Atrius Selector & M16 Style Selector Forced Reset Device Guide (2026)

Posted by Myth Industries on Oct 22nd 2026

The Atrius Super Selector (also called Atrius Forced Reset Selector) and the M16 Style Selector GEN2 are three-position forced reset safety selectors for mil-spec AR-15 rifles. They offer Safe, Semi, and Super-Semi (assisted reset) modes.

Both are selector-based systems that work with your existing mil-spec or compatible fire control group. Installation and requirements are nearly identical. This guide covers both.

Atrius Variants

Atrius offers three main styles:

Variant

Description

Single Sided

Basic right-side lever

Ambidextrous

Fully ambidextrous levers

M16 Single Sided

M16-style lever profile

All are CNC-machined from heat-treated 4140 steel with a corrosion-resistant finish. They feature a ~90-degree throw and a solid lever cam design.

The M16 Style Selector GEN2 uses a traditional M16-style selector switch and is CNC-machined from heat-treated 4140 tool steel with a black oxide finish. Users report it works particularly well with mil-spec trigger shoes.

How They Work

  1. You pull the trigger → one round fires.
  2. The BCG cycles rearward and engages the cam/trip arm.
  3. The mechanism mechanically forces the trigger forward into the reset position.
  4. You pull the trigger again for the next shot.

The disconnector still functions. The system remains semi-automatic.

Compatibility Requirements

.300 Blackout Builds

9MM / AR-9 Builds

See our AR-9 Installation Guide.

Note: Some AR-9 variants may require minor gunsmithing for the selector.

Installation Overview (Atrius & M16 Style)

  1. Clear the firearm and separate upper/lower.
  2. Remove the pistol grip to access the detent and spring.
  3. Remove the existing safety selector, detent, and spring.
  4. Install the new Atrius or M16 Style Selector.
  5. Reinstall the grip and function check carefully.
  6. Test with dummy rounds, then live fire.

About 40% of setups may need minor trigger tail modification for full clearance. Most installs take 10–20 minutes.

Common Issues

No reset: Buffer too light. Use the H3 GEN2.

Selector binding: Check detent and lever orientation. High-shelf lowers can interfere.

Light strikes: Bolt bounce - upgrade buffer.

Final Thoughts

Both the Atrius Selector and the M16 Style Selector GEN2 are excellent selector-based options if you want to keep your existing trigger. They share the same core requirements: M16-profile BCG and proper buffer weight. The H3 GEN2 Slide Dead Blow Buffer is the most common recommendation for reliable function.
